Life-Sized 2017

Project type
Children's guide to nature

'Life Sized Animal Tracks' is a nonfiction series designed to bring the natural world to young readers, illustrated in lithographic-style prints. This guide features life-sized, to-scale images of the prints left by a wide range of animals from around the globe. Each double-page spread offers important facts about the creatures who made the tracks, aimed at ages 7 and up.

These animal tracks, from the footprints of a pygmy shrew to those of a nine-banded armadillo, are life-size.

Follow the tracks... and learn all about the animals that made them, and includes scale representations of the prints left by mammals and reptiles from around the world, as well as a foldout picture of an elephant. The illustrations, accompanied by factoids, help children identify creatures by their tracks, encouraging naturalists to explore and appreciate wildlife.

The animals include:
African Cheetah, the American Alligator, the European Rabbit, the Gecko, the Giant Panda, the Grey Wolf, the House Mouse, the Otter, the Polar Bear, the Reindeer, the Siberian Tiger, the Spotted Skunk, and many others.
Through detailed illustrations and informative text, readers will learn to identify animals by the tracks they leave, fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife and encouraging exploration of the natural world. The front cover features deep embossing on canvas textured boards with laminated tracks. The 48-page book aims to spark curiosity and motivate young minds to explore and safeguard their local wildlife.
